Big Screen Symposium

The Big Screen Symposium is the event that puts the filmmakers of Aotearoa New Zealand in one venue for the purpose of debate, discussion, information and inspiration.

Held annually at the University of Auckland’s Owen G Glenn building, this two-day, multi-workshop event is designed for all those who bring our stories to the big screen:¬†from directors, writers and producers to musicians, actors and technicians to business people, distributors and film students.¬†

It presents a big picture of the world of cinema, a great networking opportunity, and a wealth of insights and nuts and bolts information on the pertinent issues facing filmmakers today.
