Two members of the award-winning Kiwi band The Phoenix Foundation will deliver a composing masterclass in this year’s symposium, drawing on their experiences writing film scores for NZ films, including smash hit HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE.
The musicians, Lukasz Pawel Buda and Samuel Flynn Scott, have been playing with their band The Phoenix Foundation for 16 years. During this time they’ve also worked on scores for various television shows and films including HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE, BOY, EAGLE VS SHARK and SEPARATION CITY. Their soundtrack for BOY won them (along with fellow Phoenix-er and film composer Conrad Wedde) Best Original Music in a Feature Film at the NZ Film and Television Awards.
