Tina Cleary is a New Zealand based casting director and actor who has been working in the film & television industry for 18 years. She founded the The Casting Company with co-director Miranda Rivers in 1999.
Her most inspiring projects to date are Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake, for which she has received an Emmy nomination, and NZ no 1 box office hit Boy by Taika Waititi & Ainsley Gardiner. Driven by the power of a good story, Tina is always chasing the allure of ‘that moment when an actor transforms the audience’, suspending them in the art of their creativity. She is passionate about working with actors to capture those moments on camera.

She is currently working on a feature film for the acclaimed See Saw Films, on Shadows (working title) by Jemaine Clement & Taika Waititi (in post), and on The Changeover by Stuart McKenzie (in development).
Tina is a tutor at the NZ Film School, Toi Whakaari, and also works as a short film script assessor for NZ Film Commission. She draws much inspiration from her Celtic origins and Aotearoa where she lives with her two children and very handsome partner!
