Dane Giraud

Dane Giraud started his career as a rock guitarist before training to be an actor, later becoming a writer and content creator. Dane developed television documentaries for over 10 years, creating and co-creating several factual-entertainment shows including Bring Your Boots, Oz, Both Worlds and Ka Tu Ka Korero.   

Dane then moved into comedy, creating and writing the critically acclaimed Find Me a Māori Bride. He followed it with five more comedy shows, including the debut series for YouTube sensation Jimi Jackson, Jimi’s World. Dane has overseen the development of several NZ theatrical films and has been attached to a couple of U.S. feature projects as a screenwriter. More recently, Dane has a major TV series in development, wrote on Sony’s VR game Wanderer and has started a comedy writers training program, “The South Auckland Comedy ChopShop” to empower more voices from his native South Auckland.
