Al Cossar is currently Programmer at the Melbourne International Film Festival, one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and longest running film festivals.
He has worked across a number of screen culture organisations in Australia, as Program Director for the Portable Film Festival, Festival Manager for Flickerfest, as a Programmer, and subsequently Board Member, for the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival, and within Public Programs at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. He is also currently a film critic on ABC television in Australia, and has a previous background within editing and post production for film and broadcast.
