Curtis Vowell

Curtis Vowell has had a diverse career; working as a director, assistant director and in production as well as being an actor and casting director.

in 2013 Curtis completed his debut feature film FANTAIL.

FANTAIL was funded through the New Zealand Film Commission’s Escalator initiative and premiered at this year’s New Zealand International Film Festival. FANTAIL was also selected for the Breakthru screenings at Melbourne International Film Festival’s 37° South.

In 2012 Curtis finished runner-up in the Make My Series international competition for his pilot EPIC GIRLFRIEND. He is currently directing the play Dragonlore as part of Young and Hungry festival of new theatre.

Curtis trained at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School and is a 2012 alumni of Melbourne Film Festival’s Accelerator directors programme.
