Jared Flitcroft

Jared Flitcroft is a groundbreaking film director, the only Deaf and indigenous director in Aotearoa, New Zealand. With Ngāti Maniapoto heritage, he honed his craft at the NZ Film and Television School in 2012, sparking a lifelong commitment to filmmaking.

From the outset, Jared’s determination has propelled him in the world of cinema. His debut short film, Tama, earned acclaim at renowned global film festivals, setting the stage for his impressive career.

Jared’s directorial talents extend beyond film, including his work on the TVNZ+ series The Kids of Kōrero Lane. He’s also contributed to projects like Being Me, showcasing stories from the disabled community. His creative reach even encompasses music videos and acting in various short films.

Amidst his diverse body of work, a recurring theme emerges – Jared’s passion for the Deaf/disabled and neurodiversity community has enabled him to become an access coordinator.
