Jessica Hansell

Jessica Hansell is a writer, musician and artist with a long history in comics, zines and journalism. Hansell wrote and created two seasons of the cartoon AROHA BRIDGE, a cult local webseries about musical Māori twins in the suburbs – this sold to Māori TV, SBS and Imaginative in Toronto.

Under the name Coco Solid she has toured and recorded internationally with her music. Hansell has an MA in creative writing from the International Institute of Modern Letters and is currently television writing for several local comedy shows. Hansell is also a selected member of Piki Films, a collective of screenwriters collaborating on work as led by executive producers Taika Waititi and Carthew Neal. Hansell has been a writer/performer in the comedy sketch series ONLY IN AOTEAROA and has been writing on a Māori dramatic series for Kura Productions.
