Mia Henry-Teirney

Mia Henry-Teirney (Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa, Te Rarawa, Ngāti Kuri) is a Māori producer based in Aotearoa and is passionate about producing authentic local stories and sharing them with global audiences. Over the years she has worked on a variety of local and international productions, including Ahikāroa, The Legend of Monkey,Head High,One of Us Is Lying, and The Lion King Reo Māori.

Mia produced season one of award-winning series Baby Mama’s Club, short drama My Brother Mitchell by Todd Karehana, short-documentary Mana Wahine by Corinna Hunziker, and numerous music videos and commercials.

She recently produced WE ARE STILL HERE, an exciting indigenous feature film with Australian co-producer No Coincidence Media, supported by the New Zealand Film Commission and Screen Australia, which opened the 2022 Sydney Film Festival.

Mia graduated with a Bachelor of Business from Auckland University of Technology, and is developing a slate of long-form drama projects.
