Rosie Carnahan-Darby

Rosie has spent the past 25 years working in the comedy industry globally.  Rosie started out owning her own performance venue The Green Room in Christchurch, where she discovered comedy and her now-husband Rhys Darby. She went on to manage the Classic Comedy and Bar, work at NZ International Comedy Festival, ran venues and reviewed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, was a talent booker at the UK’s largest chain of comedy clubs, Jongleurs before following her husband to New York for a little show called Flight of the Conchords. Since then Rosie has focussed on Team Darby, producing four of Rhys’ comedy specials, executive producing Short Poppies for TVNZ and producing several pilots in both the USA and NZ. She has also produced live shows for Rhys and other comedians in New Zealand and the USA.  Along the way, she has worked closely with agents, managers, creatives, writers and producers across the world.

Most recently Rosie joined Karen Kay Management in Auckland as an Agent. It felt like a natural progression from “Wifeager” the term used in the USA for the wives that actually handle all the business for their very busy other halves! Now back in NZ as a COVID refugee Rosie is fascinated by the effect it has had on the industry both here and in the USA.
