Ruth Zanker

Dr. Ruth Zanker teaches and researches at the New Zealand Broadcasting School, CPIT Christchurch. She was the founding chair of the Children’s Television Foundation, a group that was instrumental in ensuring funding for local children’s television after deregulation of the industry in the late 1980s. Her recent publications focus on young people’s media use and local provision, in particular the opportunities and challenges presented by digital media. She is a trustee of the recently formed New Zealand Children’s Screen Trust.
