STOP MOTION MASTERCLASS WITH ANTONY ELWORTHY AND RACHEL LARSEN

To the surprise of many people, stop-motion animation has enjoyed a renaissance over the past two decades. Rachel Larsen and Antony Elworthy are two renowned animators who have been part of this boom.

Rachel and Antony give an insight into the production of stop-motion productions, discussing such projects as Tim Burton’s CORPSE BRIDE, CORALINE, Wes Anderson’s ISLE OF DOGS, and Amazon TV series TUMBLELEAF. They also touch on the project they are working on right now, TVNZ preschool series KIRI AND LOU, written and directed by Harry Sinclair.

Looking at the animation industry in general, they explore the enduring popularity of stop-motion in the face of modern animation techniques.
