Tanya Phegan

After twelve years abroad in the UK and US, Tanya Phegan, has recently returned to Australia to join Porchlight Films as their Head of Television.

Having previously held roles at BBC Films and DNA Films, Tanya has extensive international experience in development, production and acquisitions. As the Head of Development and Acquisitions at DNA Films she developed projects with some of the UK’s top creative talent, working on films including THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, 28 WEEKS LATER, DREDD, NEVER LET ME GO, SUNSHINE, NOTES ON A SCANDAL and FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD

At BBC Films, Tanya shepherded several films through production including WEST IS WEST, 360, and THE FIRST GRADER. Tanyaʼs extensive production experience dates back to her early work on international commercials and Australian films MOULIN ROUGE and MULLET.

Porchlight Films is an independent Australian Production company producing premium cinema and television. Porchlight is the company behind the internationally acclaimed ANIMAL KINGDOM (2010) and director David Michôd’s sophomore film THE ROVER staring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson (World Premier Official Selection Cannes Film Festival 2014). Porchlight also produced the THE HUNTER (2011) staring Willem Dafoe and LORE (2012) the anticipated second film from director Cate Shortland as a co-production between Australia and Germany. Porchlight, in association with See-Saw Films, produced the film adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas’ novel Dead Europe, directed by Tony Krawitz (The Tall Man, 2011). Porchlight produced two seasons of the hit-comedy series LAID for Australia’s ABC TV. LAID has been sold as a format and a UK version is currently in production for ITV. Porchlight recently produced THE KETTERING INCIDENT, an eight part high end drama series set in Tasmania for Australia’s Foxtel network which stars Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Macbeth, Everest) and Matthew Le Nevez (Offspring, Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War).
