Verity Johnson

Writer, media personality, TV presenter & MC Verity Johnson is Stuff’s most widely read weekly opinion columnist, and a regular on Radio NZ the panel, known for her funny, sharp takes on New Zealand society. She has written for The Guardian, The Listener, Metro & is an arts columnist for The Big Idea.  

In a nocturnal life she’s both comedian, show producer and MC, having written and performed for Melbourne International Comedy Festival, written for 7 Days and Comedy Central online, and is the founder and MC of the weekly burlesque show, Club Burlesque. Club Burlesque is NZ’s first burlesque club, performing shows celebrating and laughing at NZ’s attitude to sex & society, which has been featured everywhere from The Project NZ, the Washington Post & WOMAN magazine.
